Has anyone bought off Firefly watches on ebay?
the Shark Vader keeps tempting me. Asked for the Timex watch that was posted a while back for my birthday but if I don't get that then I may go for the vader!Yeah a few Seikos. They sent me an email asking 'are you sure' as I was winning about 6 of their auctions a few weeks back. They seem good.

Do some research on thewatchsite.com, a very good japanese watch forum. Conclusion is that many of the watches are not what they appear.
On a more general note, buying watches on ebay is a good way to get ripped off - there are lots of fakes, non-original vintages and overpriced stuff.
Firefly say when the parts are repainted, not original and/or from another model so it's hardly going to upset a buyer that's read their text.
Oh wait.. it's ebay.. who actually reads listings..

Have you read the threads on thewatchsite forum? There are some very knowledgeable Seiko collectors on there who have a different opinion.

You're not in their target market though. Clearly it says "yacht club" on the face.

Here's one http://www.thewatchsite.com/index.php/topic,24866.0.html
Just to say, I haven't bought anything from them so have no experiences, good or bad, but in my experience the world of vintage watches seems to have a lot more chancers than the world of vintage bikes.

My numerous Seikos are all sub-£200 and look better than that piece of shit.
How much is the IWC Carbon Casio?
-
• #4198
It's twice the price of a proper IWC Portuguese.

I have just jumped on the Seiko LFGSS bandwagon, after being just outbidded on three vintage divers. I went for a near new 200m kinetic Seiko diver for £97. I will post pics when it arrives.

Oh and that IWC is shite.
I am going to give it a miss, there are plenty of 70's divers on teh 'bay in excellent condition
