I doubt very much that they'll give up now. It shows you how entrenched certain attitudes in this country are, but it won't be impossible to overcome them with determined campaigning. The simple fact is that a manifest injustice was committed in Eilidh's case, and you only have to look at the many campaigns against miscarriages of justice to know how much work and determination is needed to overturn them.
