Just seems a bit of a dangerous thing really, generally I feel safer if cars can see me while overtaking me. There are a few people that ride without any lights and - I'm probably wrong - but think that's preferable to riding with a red on the front.

+1, the rear light is way more important. and having a red on the front is just asking for trouble.
