The "Red" builds are particularly pointless, since SRAM shifters get expensive without getting any better in function. Adding exotic materials to knock a few grams off makes no difference to the user experience. On the other hand, the Red chainset is 130g lighter than Apex, more than the total difference between the Red (505g) and Rival (610g) shifter+RD+FD subgroups. Since there is no functional difference across SRAM groups, if you're going to mix and match to keep down to a budget you might as well be a weightweenie about it, and PX seem to have gone precisely the wrong way.
