isis and octalink BBs tend to be more expensive, the bearings usually wear much faster, less readily avalible than square taper, is the extra price and problems worth a tiny amount of extra power transfer? a google search and you'll find pleanty of other problems people have found, its the reason squared tapers still here after many years and they are not. external bearing are usually excellent though, but you cant vary the q factor. I'd only use external BB or perhaps the Dura Ace 7710 on my fixed gear though. sugino 75s arnt even that good. I love the stronglight activ link track chainset I have, shame they arn't 144BCD though.
Just get shaft driven.
