i had a play with a galaxy sII yesterday as i was photographing one.
no matter how good the phone performs it's construction is below par. cheap plasticy build and it feels like it would break into pieces if you dropped it.
it's quite light but would rather it was made of something sturdier, the back flexes when you squeeze it, screen is a bit 'grainy' too.
glad i didn't splurge on one now, the HTC's look a lot better made. -

was just reading a few of the reviews on archos 101. a bit mixed. some say that you cant view streams like bbc's iplayer but some say it works. anyone tried it?
and is it true that it doesnt have android market on it? dont get it. might as well be windows mobile if that's the case
It took me 5 mins from out of box to have the full android market installed via Arctools and I've just tried out iplayer and it seems fine. Just trying out TVcatchup now and it's a bit glitchy. Will try it at home with a faster connection and see how it goes.

Neither the suburban hmvs I have tried so far stock the 101. They have the 7c only, plus they started selling the 8" Samsung which isn't have bad. But its only £10 cheaper than the 10" model - I don't get it.
Which hmv stores have them? -

Anyone waiting for the Galaxy Nexus? Due 17th November but still waiting for a couple of networks to confirm when they will have it

Leadenhall was out yesterday. May try Oxford Circus today, if I get my expected delivery in time to go into town.

I've got UrukDroid 1.5 running on the Archos 101.
Straightforward enough. I used a spare SD card I had and opted for the easy install method onto the SD card, rather than internal storage. It's definitely more responsive to the touch. Only problem I've noticed so far is ArcTools now force closes so I can't install the Google Market through it. I'm working around this at the moment with an SSH connection and some poorly remembered linux commands. :)

UrukDroid 1.6RC2 is available. Installing that now. Still no luck with Google Market though.

Anyone holding out for the ultimate (sic) tablet, might want to hold out for the soon available
Asus Transformer Prime tablet. It sports the new quad-core CPU, and blitzes the benchmark tables. -

hippy: Try this solution: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arctools-application/arctools-0-56-wont-start/
Worked for me on new 101.

Nice one, that worked. Guess the newer .56 must be for the newer firmware.

Our company all use iPhone 4's, they are all (100% of them) cracked front and back.

Politely, but firmly disagree.
Sony Ericsson make the best looking premium Android phones. They just aren't up-to-date when they come out, and don't keep pace with others in the updates departments. But agree or not in regards to performance, the Xperia X10 and the Xperia Arc and Arc S, are things of beauty.
Waiter, cheque please.
