  • Does anyone know which of these mapping sites allows you to drag a bit of the route line interactively in order to tweak the route? I remember clearly doing it on one of them, can't remember which it is.

    Mapmyride does this.

  • I generally use mapmyride, but I never use satnavs or anything on rides. I'll use it to work out distances, then I'll use an actual paper map for long rides.

    Yep, this.

  • Lucy, alternative like ridewithgps often have a cue sheet to print out on top of the GPS.

Ahh! That's useful info re: the cue sheet. I've just been writing my own until now.

  • I discovered the Explore Segments page on Strava yesterday. It's possible I've been living under a rock and you're all already using this but I though I'd share because it is amazing!

    Go to –
    http://app.strava.com/

    Click –
    Explore

Type your postcode into the top-left field (if your not already registered).

You can effectively scroll around your location seeing all the cat 1,2,3 and 4 climbs, who'se ridden them and how fast. You have all recorded segments in your area shown on the map, the slider at top narrows the search.

If you love the hills then this is a godsend.

  • ...for instance ...this.
