Now it's easy to see why commuters demand showers and a change of clothes at their work place. Fail.

I can demand a change of clothes at work? awesome. I'm getting a pirate outfit.

Ever since I did my commute at 6am on a deserted Bank Holiday morning 6mph and 13 mins faster than I can do on a normal morning I stopped even trying to go fast whilst commuting unless I'm late. Save it for the weekend FTW.

I raced a commuter up Pentonville road a month or so back. She had panniers and one of those fold out reflectors, I was on a Boris bike, wearing shiny leather soled shoes and determined not to shift out of top.
I won, but it was close.

I'm stuck on an mtb at the moment (my F. Moser got nicked and my singlespeed is in the post) and I was cruising to a mate's house to watch some films and have a few tinnies and this lycra clad roadie steams past, so I chase him up and start to match his pace (not easy as he was going quite quick) after a mile or so he starts to cruise. I pull along side and sit up hands off the bars and say "Nice bike mate, how many miles have you covered?" stunned and confused he checks his onboardwirelessnasamadesupercomputer and informs me he has covered 15miles we both bid eachother parting gestures and went our separate ways. It's nice to be nice.

I find it annoying when people draft you, mainly because I can't clear my nose for fear of splattering them... it really pisses me off though not being able to clear my nose!!
I had a cold for weeks a while back and was doing steady state stuff around Regent's.
Always, all-fucking-ways, there'd be some knob end fauxdies sitting on my wheel like it was a clubrun or sportive or something. FFS I'm blowing snot rockets faster than you can turn your cranks, piss off. Hmm.. maybe this should've gone in Rants?

You must always teach a lesson if you are stronger ... make them aim for something. Without Goals we would still be in mud huts.

I do.

I saw a little 10-year-old girl on a Raleigh 20 style bike overtake a load of commuters in York this weekend. Bike computer said I was doing 20 when I overtook her, so she was probably going 18 at least. Pretty impressive.

1st post...
anyone ride the superhighway 7 up to clapham
that is a mental road full of mental hump wielding MTB psychos
every day is the TDF
why? -
• #492
I do but thankfully not every day. but when I do it's all the way from Mordor to E&C.
I've seen the worst instances of cyclist behaviour along that road compared to pretty much anywhere else in london (old street being a possible exception).

Last of your worries on that road...
Biggest hazard I've found between South Wimbledon Tube and Clapham South has to be the nonchalant downtrodden masses wandering aimlessly and carelessly in to the road.
Can be an absolute nightmare on a Thursday evening -
• #497
yeh that road is a joke
solidarity amongst my cycling brothers and sisters...no chance
i dont even have that nice a bike and yet people make it a personal vendetta to try and mug me off
ah well, time for a new route methinks
unlucky on the mordor route dude! thats a long lonely dangerous trail to follow -

I got outclassed by a chav girl on a MTB down Holloway, tracksuit and mobile on the go, came down my inside as i waited at the lights, dropped a perfect trackstand before splitting through the gap in the passing cars.. style! so much i didn't even bother to compete....
Not on the bike because that is dangerous .. I normally put on the headphones so I don't annoy the neighbours with music ... the sunglasses are for myself :D
