I was hoping somebody here would be able to help out with this.
My mum has recently showed renewed interest in cycling after around 5 years not riding (having her bike stolen from outside work really put her off for this long) but she's decided that she wants to train and ride London to Paris as a goal, plus start commuting again.
We checked out Brixton cycles (really helpful) and really liked the 44cm Surly Cross-check she tried out "feels like im gliding" in her own words, but the price tag was much too high for us at £975. They recommended the size smaller since she was a little stretched on the 44. Checking out ebay I was outbid on a bloody 42cm cross check by 5 quid, and I don't think anything nice that size will come up for a while..
ANYWAY, tl;dr etc, I thought I could surprise her for christmas by putting a commuter/tourer together for her, so I'm looking for a 42-44cm frame. Maybe a cyclocross frame for the tyre and mudguard clearance, but needs to be in nice looking condition. I'd say we've got a budget of about 150 quid but would consider everything you show.. (for the frame not for the whole bike)
Another cyclist back on the road is one less car/ commuter squashed in the tube yadda yadda help the cause, ta
