^^^got to say that it mos def is anti.
The colour looks shocking now you can see the whole bike, the wheels, and chainring are horrible. And painting the stem in white makes it look bigger, which is the last thing you want when you're using an ahead on a skinny tubed frame.
Real shame as the frame is beautifully done.

DT RWS use the same flawed design, although the DT ones have a ratchet so you at least get the lever where you want it, the 10mm (R) versions have the right thread size to allow them to be tightened properly without the combination of bolt tension and tightening shear exceeding the material limits of the skewer.
I have this on one of my bikes, works great, should I expect a surprise in the future?

The wheels are gonna be changed over to 36h Campys but that still won't distract from that fucking chainring and stem.

looks great but i think bikes like this running no brakes (or coaster brakes) are mental.

• #55108
It has got a coaster brake. Can you not see it?

2 speed kick down too

Yeah, not anti, but certainly nothing that gets me excited:
what is this bike for?
brakeless, fixed gear, off road cyclocross.
thats a pretty niche market right there.on second look, they are not cross tyres. ill take it back. looks shit mind.
confusing. -

In fairness, probably only if you use disc brakes, although riding on rough roads or off road will loosen your skewers. The main reason for having the skewers tight (apart from front wheel ejection on disc braked bikes, and then it seems that no amount of tightness is enough) doesn't seem to be wheel retention per se, since on a road bike the wheels will pretty much stay in with the QRs open until you hit a bump, but to provide enough friction at the threaded connection to prevent loosening under repeated reversing loads, i.e. bumps & braking.
Paradoxically the 'proper' Campag and Shimano closed cam QRs can generate more skewer tension, yet need it less, than 'boutique' light weight skewers since the latter are rarely provided with any friction enhancement (e.g. 'nyloc' inserts) at the threaded end.

Right then, my DT RWS (10mm rear) is on a Yeti 575 with disc brakes and it lives off road. I've never had an issue with it loosening off, not saying it won't happen-it's still relatively new- but I'm surprised DT Swiss would release a product with such a flawed design without doing some due diligence.

Nice cranks arms tho. -

Damn right you are, that's proper constructor stuff there.

Rear is mostly a non-issue due to the different brake placement, and DT 9mm/10mm RWS are also fine*, it's only the 5mm ones which are dodgy.
*ish. The RWS 9mm for a disc braked front wheel would be strong enough, but you can't tighten it with enough torque due to the short lever.

All these foggy frames and components.
Either the manufacturers are a little embarrassed and don't want to draw attention to the aesthetic form of the items, or they're showing false humility and are fully aware that a design black hole has a pretty strong pull.
It's the EMS*, I'm positive.EMS - Eye Magnet Standard
