1957 Dawes was really nice and I used it as a commuter/hack for a couple of years (with some modern wheels and singlespeed), but it was way too small for me - I ended up getting a long MTB seatpost in it which made the saddle-bar drop not very comfortable over long distances, even with the very tall stem. The best bit was that all the components were stamped 'Dawes' - the stem, the bars, the brake hoods, the brake calipers, even the grommets that sat over the exposed brake cables (and you thought that Gore invented them recently!).

1950 Claud Butler was really nice... a bit too small for me. Sold it to someone on here who has kept it baremetal.
