My travelling watch is the Casio Edifice I pictured on the previous page. It was around £100, waterproof, shockproof etc. I think it looks fairly discrete and works alright with most clothing combinations.
It's solar powered and sets itself to the broadcast radio signal from the atomic clocks in Europe, USA and Japan. It also has a "world time city" feature that allows you to quickly and easily change timezones from your 'home' city to any other city which is why I use it as my travelling watch. Worth a look I reckon.

So why is it that you can't wear one? Work? Allergy?

G Shocks are fairly robust if your going roughnecking in your travels.
I got a GX56 thats solar powered and mud resistant along with the usual G stuff.
Its comically large (luckily so am I, so its all good)You can get analogue g-shocks too if thats your bag.
Not exactly subtle though. -

Anyone want some 22mm spring bars for free?
They're the slightly thicker 1.8mm diameter ones. Ordered them by mistake and don't need them.... I have 5

5?

5?
:) two came with the strap I ordered but i'm cutting it down to an 18mm lug width so don't need them.
I then ordered 2 of the larger diameter ones but ordered 22mm again instead of 18mm. They send a spare with these.
2 + 2 + Spare = 5

Is it the straps Yasi or the watch as well?
I would imagine a light stainless strap should avoid messing with your wrist.Nice watch to lust after, be wary of the online Rolex dealer.
the straps, i get it with belts and necklaces too, i dont think its an allergy though, i think my skin just gets irritates.

Some of you chaps and lassies seem to know your stuff in here. What i'm wondering is, if i had £2000 and wanted to buy a timepiece that was both classic and would hopefully increase in value, where would i generally cast my gaze?
I appreciate all your time and trouble. -

Metal allergies are pretty common. If you get a red - often faint, irritating rash where the metal was it probably is a localised allergy.

i just read that titanium is hypoallergenic, might help your search.

I appreciate all your time and trouble. Not a collector but for that money I'd buy an Omega of some description. But, I'd be buying it because I like them not because I expect them to increase in value. Buying watches as an investment doesn't make a lot of sense unless you really know your stuff and pick rare items up cheap(ish).

Linky for these?
I need recommendations - please. I am after a watch that I can use as a good everyday sturdy but stylish piece to go away travelling with. Currently I wear my Longines Aposition daily at the moment but don't really want to take it away with me for fear of losing it (it has sentimental value).
Ideally I want something waterproof / shockproof and fairly discrete. I was thinking of a G-Shock (I know) but would welcome better recommendations. Thinking of spending around £100 so if it does get lost stolen on my travels it's not so big a deal. Cheers horologists.
