  • My beloved Globe Roll 2010 has been pinched. I had customised it a bit to make it look more fake-enger than Globe. I am a very sad panda, if anyone sees this around south London or anywhere else for that matter please do let me know, you will be rewarded.

It was black, with silver MKS pedals, sllver velosolo riser bars with cut down black rubber grips and two dia compe tech 77 brake levers, 100mm silver quill stem, a generic silver seat post and a black riveted saddle. I'd replaced the tires for a couple of Schwalbe marathon plus tires.

It went from outside Sainsburys in Clapham at quarter past eight this evening. How they got through my krypto mini I'll never know as it was nowhere to be found nearby.

I don't have a receipt from the purchase of my lock which apparently ETA require for a claim.

head down to the Jumble sale in New Covent Garden Market (Vauxhall) on Sunday. My money's on it being there

  • also, check out brick lane, gumtree, and set up some saved searches on ebay.

  • Bike shed is a bit of a winner fro spotting a missing bike

  • oh yeah, that too. bikeshd.co.uk

same photo as the fuji on ebay, different number.

also does anyone use this site: http://www.stolenbikealert.co/

    Dodgy? I thinks so...

Hmm, far too cheap for what it is... But they have left the reflectors on the pedals, which is a crime in itself if you ask me...

  • My silver Charge Plug Racer has been pinched ) :
Nicked at some point between Sunday night and Tuesday evening from the entry hall at my Dad's house in Beckenham, which is kinda annoying seeing as the only way into there is by having a key or by sneaking in when someone uses the door (and it's not a big building).
Anyway, it's a 56cm with a seatpost that is as stuck as a seatpost ever could be.
    Changed a few bits, namely:

    • Brown Charge saddle instead of the usual white one
    • System short stem (crap but was doing the job) mounted upwards
    • Black caged pedals (no straps but black cages)
    • White/grey leather grips that I sewed on myself (pretty unique, took me hours)

Picture of me and the bike (before I started changing stuff on it):

Excuse my ugly mug in the first photo.
Additionally, if anyone goes to The Royal Albert in New Cross, it's the one that's usually locked-up outside there.

Give me a shout on 07811 044 328 if you hear/see anything. Pretty damn gutted right about now.

  • Well not a whole stolen bike, but some one pinched all things not bolted down off my bike last night in Shoreditch. Handlebars, breaks, seat post, seat, front wheel. grrr annoying had to take a cab home.
None of the parts are even worth the hassle of trying to track down as it was my pub bike, slightly amused they went to the effort since the resale value will be like £5 for the whole lot.

  • That sucks. Walking to Easts tonight?

  • unlikely... need to go collect some parts to fix the bike back up

  • someone in the ground floor of my block is currently hacksawing a lock of an expensive looking adult tricycle. hackney / bethnal green.

It's not the first time i have seen him removing locks. always on a different bike. and often resprays frames in the courtyard as well.

anyway, let me know if your tricycle has been stolen and i can put you in touch.
its a new looking green one with storage area at back.

On a more general note, what to do if there's a bike thief living in your block...?

  • i'm pretty sure i saw that on sunday down brick lane market.
some guy smoking weed was selling it for £100. stuck in my mind because of the type of person he was and the bike he had. he was just pushing it around asking anyone that walked past. down sclater sreet were the bikes normally are

Ah dammit, I should have checked here everyday. It's my mates bike so I could have sent him searching. Thanks for responding anyway dude.i 'll let my mate know it could be knocking around brick lane still.

    you're kidding.

call the police. that's just one idea.

  • mind = boggled

  • Call the fuzz, call anyone, call The Hardy boys! This ain't The Wire, snitches don't get stitches they get rep!

  • Befriend him and go deep undercover. We could use someone on the inside...

Be sure to keep posting updates of your progress here though, we'll need to reel you back in when you forget your identity and start sleeping around the criminal underclass.

  • police + ctf + snt = called

for the record i also quiz him occasionally. gifts from friends the usual response.

oh and apologies for cross posting - was hoping for someone to get their trike back...

I'll post if i see any more bikes.

  • Stolen Whyte Cambridge from 'secure' parking at work - CAB Pentonville Road Kings Cross / Islington between 11am - 4pm

Running SRAM APEX - Hydro brakes,

Standard Factory spec expect for newly fitted SRAM double tap -

Has Shimano SPD's - MTB pedals
Raceblade on the back - with white pvc tape covering rear stays
Brand New Swarbe MArthon plus (bought this morning done 2 miles on it!)

Locked up using cable - yes not great but was told secure parking - in view of CCTV, waiting for tomorrow to go through. Feeling is it was a delivery driver as you cant enter parking unless buzzed in by security and full car/van detials and driver taken beforew being let in.

    Better pics and spec here.

  • 8 (Eight!) bikes for sale on Gumtree right now only he seems uncertain of his name, I know, it's easy to forget. Either way, anyone lost a pretty looking Peugeot ?
    http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/classic-red-peugeot-single-speed-bike-london-130/90540876

And lo, if a google here and a google there doesn't reveal that the mobile number belonged to a guy called Shaun Chau. Perhaps he prefers the name tommy or Kyle. I like Shaun myself, a nice sturdy name.

  • ^ Oh it gets weirder, he ripped the pic from here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread11067-14.html

  • That's very strange
