  • Today I have been particularly shocked by the death of a cyclist in Bow on a roundabout I go over on a regular basis that I have always avoided because I thought it was overly dangerous. Over the past year there have been multiple deaths of cyclists in London mainly caused by HGV's which the government intends to trial longer versions of. I would like to organise a ride to mark these deaths and to highlight awareness for cyclists vulnerability. http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.php has been an organised ride since 2003 and I believe it would be poignant to celebrate the lives of the people taken from our cycling community on the same day as others across the world and in a manner that reflects their lifestyle choice of cycling. From the threads and posts I read I know we are all are affected by this issue. I will keep you all updated as I plan this ride. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
