I have owned cars but three years or so ago I decided not to bother - I don't actually need one and if I do they're cheap enough to hire.
I drove for a week a little while ago and it was the most stressful and annoying week ever. It took twice as long to get anywhere than if I cycled and I spent lots of money on petrol.
I do like the ability to drive for the occasional time when I might need to though.
