Not tempted to rebuild? Cheapo system ex hub and re-lace it?
In the meantime, can you put another brake on your bike and ride as is?

Would it be insensitive to ask if I can haz your stripped wheel if there's a freewheel on it CB?
Smiles sweetly -

Sadly, the thread on both sides are gone :-( Smooth as a babies bottom unfortunately Wicksie. Im going to have to throw the hub away and have it re-laced to a new one.

I have a brand new 32 hole on one hub, brand new black dp18 rim and slightly thicker stainless steel dt spokes/nipples. Will give you the set for £50 if you like. Everything unused. You just need to build it.

Ah thanks anyway CB.
What on earth did you do to thread both sides? Eek. -

Wicksie, it was a one of those 2 part miche cog/ carrier jobbies that came loose regularly. Something was wrong and basically went crunch and spun freely...
The otherside was a long time ago when i put a 22t and the thread also just gave in.

Cheers for the offer singspeed, but i was hoping to get a full wheel as i dont want to wait for a wheel build.
no wheel so no ride :-(

I'll build you a wheel with a 60 minute turnaround Iain. I wouldn't even charge.
It might be a little, well, square though.

I'll build it for you for a coffee.
And lend you a bike whilst I do it.

I have the deep V from my globe, yours for £30 or borrow for free until you get a new one.
Same thing happened to my miche hub a few weeks ago. Us southern africans just have too much power.
I am in need of a fixed rear wheel as my hub thread was stripped on friday. (I am now currently bikeless because of this fact)
Im looking to spend the £50 range. (the cheaper the better)
I would prefer a Low profile that can take a 32x700C tyre... As guidance, the previous was an amborosio rim on a formula hub.
Thanks for listening
