"The best corporate event I have attended - it couldn't be faulted" - Chesterton Humberts
hahaha! can't tell if it's a piss take

next time we play polo at the Hurlingham, maybe we could also call it a "corporate event" and charge people hundreds of squids to attend.
(bike) Polo In The Park - 2011
"A [spectacular event], and [one I'm glad I attended]" - Sir Reginald Bratiwaite-Smithes
In the same way Buzz Armstrong landing on the surface of the Moon in 1969 change the course of humanity, bike polo is changing the the very essence of what it means to be human in 2011.
"Attending this event cured me of cancer" - Lady Foxtrot-Oscar
Six players, from all six corners of London's famous London will compete ins this blah blah blah etc.
Tickets: £6,000,000
...I should probably get back to work.

They are cunts... Er I mean estate agents ... And when I say ESTATE agents I mean literally (not like housing estate though... The type of estate's with a grouse lodge and fox hunting on the weekends)... They are the cunt of cunts.

We should give this a go, hurlingham thursdays again.. i can do most thurs, or we could get everyone (regulars) interested to give a block amount (say, £10) and then book the court for a few months in advance at notting hill? Any other ideas?

Polo tomorrow, anyone?
@Plastic_pedals, beginners polo is on Tuesdays in Peckham, and might be a good place to start, not that I'm not a beginner or averse to lending you my bike for games.

Is WeLo Polo properly dead then? I'm a total noob so I would quite like to come along to a game to watch and maybe get involved (not sure my 1950s Dawes will do the job!) but I'm near Kingston so West would be best for me.

I used to cycle from Kingston to souths polo. Couldnt you ride to peckham from kingston then get the train back from Vauxhall? or get the train either way? Peckham is beginners night and they have mallets to borrow and even a polo bike for loan. If you dont mind waiting to borrow that bike you can ride to peckham on a bike with a road gear
-
• #4823
Yeh, that would work. It's not too far and as you say, the train is always an option. I just wanted to check to see if there was any interest/places to play left in the West.
-
• #4824
Yes west is dead, three of the main protagonists now live south and one has a broken collar bone. Although to be fair where we were playing in Hurlingham park isn't much closer than south polo (harper road, wednesdays).
When you factor in the ease of getting a train from Waterloo to Wimbledon, souths was easier.
Having said that I'd be well up for reviving west polo or even starting south west polo! If you can find a good place to play with lights I'm sure people will come. At least I will, and crumb, And I can think of a couple of others, plus one or two who will start playing because it's close.

yeah, i know i'd be in as well as people at college who would want to
but as before i think this horse has been flogged enough
Wow looks like even hurlingham's been hit by the credit crunch, that's cheaper than last year isn't it?!
