birmingham city council is rather anti cycling
Actually, it wasn't BCC that were anti-cycling in this case (though I won't disagree entirely about the anti-bike-ness). My manager worked with the marathon committee to set the route and actually suggested a time trial before the race. They didn't actually rule out the idea but said they wouldn't do it this year. It may be on the cards for next year but I wouldn't hold my breath... or trackstand or whatever... I'm sure I could if I tried though... ahem..

I cycled past Doug in Highgate the other day after work, I think he was just getting some miles in now he's got all that spare time!

bump bump bump
Kinda unrelated/kinda related but I'm going down to London to ride the Marathon route before the run starts. There's a thread on it in London section but I'm joining a separate group of friends down there to do it. It's an early start so I'll be down there a day or two before. There's also a night ride. Anyone wanna join?

Ah, now... I did find those threads, but you said HALF marathon ride. I got confused :) I'm sure if I'd read the thread more closely it'd say half marathon somewhere. I blame the time of night, skimming first and last page etc etc...

I'm sure I said London Marathon. It wasn't that clear because I tacked it onto this thread where peeps did a similar thing here. (no need to start new thread)
