Obviously you have to go on averages when you are sizing clothing up, but it does seem a bit inconsistant.
With regards to Assos, I have a jersey that I really like from them, it's a Large.
So when trying on leg warmers I tried the Large ones- to discover that they were better suited to a Giraffe, or pro basketball player.
Which leaves me with the conclusion that the Assos L is designed for a cyclist who weighs around 80kg and is just over 2 metres tall.
