Recommend a women's bike

  • a female friend has £300-£400 to spend on a single speed bike.
she'd like a complete bike and was going to head off to foffa and buy one of theirs. having looked at the foffa thread it looks like that perhaps there are alternatives out there that might be a better bet.

so ideally looking for a 50cm (ish) frame, (she's around 5'5")
single speed (but not fixed - flip flop acceptable)
    aesthetically pleasing.
    mostly for riding around london.

can anyone suggest an alternative that might be better/last longer?

i'm thinking she'd prefer shop bought as opposed to 2nd hand (though if you think there is a really good deal kicking around that fits the bill...)

sorry if there is a thread like this already etc.

    pleaseandthankyou.

  • Fuji track classic? The geometry isn't too agressive and it's pretty good value.

  • Women's forum. http://www.lfgss.com/forum56.html

There's also a thread for bikes shorter riders. http://www.lfgss.com/thread46928.html although they maybe too small for your friend.

Also search for "OTP" on the forum. There are quite a few lists of bikes by price range.

  • thanks for that. rocking my world
