really lovely. good luck.

superb build, if I were really picky I'd like to see narrower mudguards but that's an easy fix...

nice lil bike

• #5
Yes, nice. And a good price.
What're the tyres?
-
• #6
That's a cracker! Gillott are one of the very best of all frame builders. I would have bought that a month ago but now I've got something else :(

Tyres are Continental SuperSport 100 (28-630), also worth mentioning that the paint job is a lot 'greener' than in the photos, more of a bright turquoise than a blue.
Viewing of course welcome, I'm in Stoke Newington.

Beyond nice!

So nice!
I have a rear rack the same, is it 50s?
-
• #10
That's damned nice! I'm interested, I live in Stokey too, would you be around tomorrow evening for me to have a look? PMing you now.

the rake on those forks is lovely. I do enjoy a good rake. Nothing worse than a dodgy 'bend' in a fork.

A beauty. I'm also interested to come and have a look at this, could head over any night this week but Thursday. Obviously 2nd in line behind Dyleet. This is only my third post so I'm unsure whether I can PM you yet tbc - please get in touch if interested in arranging. Thanks.

superpowers - I've PM'd you my e-mail address. Dyleet first in line though.

I just had a look at this bike, it's even nicer in the flesh. Had I not made an impulsive purchase of a new groupset this morning, then I'd probably be riding around on it as we speak; but I did, so I'm going to let this one go, which means you're next in line buddy.

quality like this is few and far between.

Having just seen this bike too, I concur with Dyleet - beeeeautiful. Unfortunately it's not for me so still available. A big BUMP for such a lovely bike and for tbcdurley for his time and allowing me to take a look.

I'm open to offers on this but can't go too far below the asking price as I haven't got any money and have a lot of bills to pay. Someone tell me if you think I'm being unreasonable on the price please...
-
• #18
Classic that will only appreciate, I'm sure. Too small for me, but someone must want this for that price..... Don't drop anymore IMHO, as it's worth it ;0)

Bump and price drop £395

Great lover of Gillott's, I have two awaiting restoration myself.
£395 is a bargain imo, I reckon eBay in the spring and you'd get over £500 for it....
Lovely bike btw

Thanks Tel, yeah I think it might just be bad timing for the sale. I'd probably do better to stick it in storage and wait until the Tweed Run/springtime but sadly I'm too strapped for cash at the moment.

what are the pedals you're including?
-
• #23
thats gorgeous, good luck with the sale!
Beautifully restored A S Gillott of Camberwell 1950s frame (more about them here). Mix of period parts in great condition and some modern components.
Frame measures: 56.5cm top tube and 56cm seat tube (c-c)
Crankset: TA 43/34T,170mm
Saddle: Honey Brooks B17
Mudguards: Phoenix Ivorette
Gears: Campagnolo Gran Sport, Campagnolo shifters with original white covers, rear cassette 13-24T
Wheels: Araya TF 110 27x1/4" rims to Campagnolo Record hubs
GB Handlebars and Stem
I took this on a short tour of Devon and Cornwall over the summer and it was lovely to ride, other than that it has had very little use since restoration. Unfortunately there are a couple of tiny chips to the paintwork which I have shown in the photos, despite this the frame is nevertheless stunning
I also have a set of pedals with clips and straps which I will include (I took them off to ride clipless whilst touring)
I would love to keep this, but it's a luxury I really can't afford at the moment. I have to confess that I bought it for less, but feel that the below is a fair price and will of course include a donation to the forum.
**£395 **(5% of which will be donated to the forum)
