Winter event (alleycat/rollapoluza/hill climbs)

Just gunna throw this out there, wondering if you's would be up for some heart held, frost biting, nipple toughening fixed gay events in the winter.
I thought I'd see if there was any hype/interest so I could get organising.

I had an idea of a winter race (some sort of hill climb shizz) with a gear ratio limit, like everyone would run similar ratio to make things fair/a challenge.

Rollapoluza - if I can get some sponsors backing and a venue we could get those guys up again and break you all out of hibernation.

Anyway gimme some thoughts/ideas and we can go from there really :)

Just an idea, why not do timed laps climbing/descending byker bank. Start at the shorter side, down up down up. Gear ratio would be completely up to th rider aswell

looking for venues at the moment. seems to just be a case of funding to be honest, though this should promise to be amazing.

I like your thinking for the hill climb tom, just thought the ratio thing would be good as during the alleycat it was the spinny ratios that gave some competitors that edge so to have the ratios similar it would mean a fairer race?

Would be a hassle to change everyone's ratio.

Yep Phil. If your loosing out because of the gearing your running then change it, not everyone elses

i agree, let people decide there own ratios, that way people can setup for what suits them best. but all of the above sounds awesome

Could book out the ouseburn regeneration centre next to the tyne bar. It's around £100 like but if everyone chipped in it would be really good. It's byob but we could buy a few crates and sell cans behind the bar for £1.50. Plenty room for rollapaluza, and could show a few bike vids or even some proper films? Make a night out of it?

Could get a band or 2 on? It'd be sound I think.

think we should have a race some time soon, sumic simple, how bout a check point race followed by a knockout sprint race, aka from outside tyne bar sprint to spillers round a cone and back, last one back is out kinda thing. and have a few rounds, every one chuck in a quid at the start winner takes the pot.
