Right, here we go then. i know some of you will have fun with this, but hey let the hilarity commence.

I'm selling a 700c white front Aerospoke with a braking surface for a friend of mine, it has not been used much and is in great condition, runs very smoothly. He does not really use it, hence why he asked me to sell it. He's asking £SOLD. Collection from Hackney or Camden, or if you're very nice he or I can arrange to meet somewhere central.

And yes, the current conversion rate for £190 IS 50 dorrah. Yes, Aerospokes do make you fly and yes please PM me if you'd actually like to buy it rather than try to be funny using tired jokes. Ta!

    Cheers,
    Ed

  • lives on brick lane, sells other peoples spoks...

  • but he's got a yellow star so its all good...right?

  • i have a yellow star, it means nothing!

  • I'd like it for my new build....but I'd like it cheaper !

  • the payment for spok is more a deposit than a payment

you want one, you pay £200 for it

months later you decide is actually a bit shit, you sell it for £200 and get a real wheel

spokonomics can not be messed with

  • Are they poo ? I never used one

  • Dancing James, I actually live in Islington not Brick Lane anymore, but I really feel where I live and what I choose to sell for other people as a favour really defines me, don't you?

    Cough.

  • IainW12, it's down to personal preference, some people like them, some people really don't. I've never ridden one so I can't comment.
For a carbon wheel they're really not that light, but those who ride them say they're really smooth. They have a bit of a reputation as a wheel for people who put aesthetics above performance, however if you like them then try one. You could waste a whole lifetime listening to bike snobs, decide what you feel is best.

  • They're not carbon

  • I believe they are. From their website:
"Aerospoke - Carbon Composite Bike Wheels"**
    **

  • I got it mixed up

    http://www.velocitywheels.com/store/product.asp?pID=206&cID=42

I remembered they were based on velocity rims but thought it was some kind of plastic composite for the spokes

  • No worries, it's easy to get mixed up, I do it from time to time too.
They are carbon but just not as light as some top end carbon track wheels, but then again they don't carry the same pricetag.

Thanks for coming back on the subject though.

  • Still available.

2 offers made, but my friend is holding out for the full £200.

    Thanks.

  • Spotter and myself were having a discussion last week about how arrospoks actually work considering how heavy they are.

What we decided is that each spoke is actually weighted from the inside but they are all different weights therefore when it goes round it forms some sort of perpetual motion and keeps on spinning.

  • Super fun wheels, shame they make you look like a plank... I loved mine...

  • What's the biggest tyre you can fit on Arrospok?

  • This. It's great for people who love skidding or walking next to their bike.

  • 3million c

  • What's the biggest tyre you can fit on Arrospok?

  • 28?

  • 28c? It's so last year.

  • my first guess was 3million c. that's so 2012

  • I have fork clearance for up to 40mm.
