For Sale: 2011 Specialized Langster 61cm

  • Hello,

Selling my Langster to fund purchase of a MTB.

Recently had a new Stronglight BB fitted as the old one was knackered. Also, due to a seized bolt I had to replace the crankset, so decided to go for a nicer looking Token Track crankset. I have replaced the stock forks with the Columbus Carbon Tusk forks, the stock forks offered a brutally buzzy ride. I have recently replaced the brake levers as they had scuffed from being leant up walls, new SRAM bar tape (not the best wrap, but ok) and some Prorace brake cabling with red housing. I have also put a much better seatpost on than the standard unbranded one bolt alloy shite, I added the Ritchey Pro alloy seatpost. Also put a new chain on, a Miche Track 1/8 one - very nice. I keep my chain very clean regularly degreasing it with GT85 and then relubing it with FInish Line Ceramic lube. The brake pads also have loads of life left and are pretty decent brakes, they are my first experience with rim brakes and they are very good.

Running the bike 48x16 fixed, 16t freewheel included. The gearing is decent, some hills are tough but it is a missile on the straight flat roads (of which there are very few in Birmingham!!) - very fast bike this.

Also included will be the Shimano M540 pedals and the crud road racer mudguards. I'll also chuck in the original pedals for what they are worth - *edit - saddle sold to Kirkov

The bike it in great nick, a few cosmetic scratches on top and down tube as pictured. The left side chain stay has a scuff near the BB from where the bike shop had nicked it when sawing the old crank arm off. The seatpost is a little scuffed, but who cares right? The tyres have loads of tread left and havent punctured once, really rate them for Spesh own make.

In Birmingham, can leave bike with my Dad who works at a courier if you want to sort your own collection (his quotes are always very high as they are a specialist same day service, so dont ask) but the jist is he be about all day for a courier to grab it. I can meet in city centre or halfway point on a train route. Or you can just drive to me and grab it.

I'd be looking for **£275 **to reflect new bits and the fact it has been well looked after.

PM me or email to samjlawton@gmail.com

  • Price drop £300

  • Nobody?

Is there any reason people aren't too interested in this, just in case I can amend anything or get something on the bike sorted?

    Open to useful criticism

  • Ahh

    Evans wankers...

  • I dunno, this has some good parts on it and I don't think its over priced.

If I were after a langster I would probably buy this...

  • Price drop... £275. Can't really go much lower than that.

    It's a bargain

  • that is a bargain...

  • Great price, don't suppose you fancy selling me that black Charge Spoon do you?

  • Yeah cant see why not, doesnt look like the offer to throw it in free is helping sell the bike..

    What you thinking? £10?

  • I do thousands of training miles on my Langster 61cm. Now racing's over I'll be back on it, great bike. Have a bump m8.

  • Hi. DO you still have this? I'm in Glasgow just now but could sort a courier if you're still selling?

    Cheers

    Andy

  • Thought you sold this in a thread a week ago...?

  • This is an older thread regarding the same bike.

  • Strange question but us the bike still available.

  • PM the guy Rochey FFS.
