Not sure if jumping while going straight ahead helps anyone but it sure helps when turning right accross traffic if you roll through with the ped signal, although it depends on the intersection.
It's two lanes each way at St Johns Rd with a lot of busses and when you're stuck out in the middle turning right they get awfully close to you at speed.
