^^You calling 6pt a rift in the fabric of space and time? ;)
-
• #228
166, no, yes.
it was boring. just under 20mph moving average (5 hours 3 minutes ffs!), stopped for a snack half way. like on a real ride! -
• #229
Maybe. I can only assume this happened to him:
the point at which the gravitational pull becomes so great as to make escape impossible

• #230
You're an odd guy 6pt.

I will shortly be "resting" between jobs. It struck me as something to do. An ***easy ***130 miles (13 out; 15 x 7 in laps and 13 home) that could be done mid week in wionter without too much traffic bother. Aim to arrive in park at first light and carry on from there. Water from tap behind bike hire shed and food at Cafe if necessary. No worries about being lost. Could even pop on an i-pod for amusement. I thought 4 anti clockwise 1 clockwise, just to change the scene once in a while. Might try it geared first and then fixed.

On the basis of the above; pot, kettle, etc.

sounds like my kind of fun.

also need to get down to RP and get another quick three laps in, otherwise I'll no longer be thread-relevant.
-
• #236
I've got a 3rd lap recorded at 20 mins dead inc. stopping at the bottom of the hill. but it's not even on the list on strava

Tom, 166 laps of Regent's inner circle? But... why? When did you do this? You mad bro!
In other news, I didn't even make it to Richmond Park, but only as far as fucking Putney. Schwalbe piece of shit Ultremo punctured again..! I wish postie would hurry up with that foldable Gatorskin.
f.f.s.

did it years ago for the Fat Cyclist 100 Miles of Nowhere. It was a sunny day, I got a tshirt, it was worthwhile.

How many laps of RP has anyone ridden in one go. I have to confess to have never haing done more than six at a sitting. The legendary Warrick Spence is alleged to have ridden 11 straight laps before boredom took over. I am tempted to attempt 15.
This summer a london dynamo did a 24 hour ride for charity, 353.6 miles, 50 laps. Not bad going really...

166 laps of the inner circle
27 laps of the outer circle
15 laps of Richmond.I am quite tempted by an RP 3 ton in three days extravaganza. I think Richmond first, then outer and then inner. - all anti clockwise and geared. Gives me the option then to do them again fixed and then geared and clockwise and fixed and clockwise should I enjoy it.
Now to sort out a job to come back to and then I can start planning. November, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Dry would be nice.

your suggested order is a descent into madness. I approve.

Being out of work for the first time in my life at 54 and after 27 years in one job is fairly close to madness. This is the cure.

• #243
Cliveo, you're springing your news in a roundabout thread. Good luck, in all challenges.

• #244
The work story is a long one and not for here until it is pleasantly resolved.
The time on my hands one will be recorded here.

• #245
Get yourself 5 more loops and you can do a dante's inferno.
-
• #246
When you talk about laps of Richmond, is it the main yellow road you see here that you're talking about?
Because I've just moved south of the river and I fancy the 3-lap challenge.
-
• #248
Yeah - Priory lane, Sawyers hill, Queens road. I always start at bottom of sawyers hill and roll anti-clock.
-
• #249
Right. I'm working for the next 11 days, but I'll get myself over there the weekend after this.

Ride anti clockwise (less traffic interference). Start where your "A" is so that you finish close to the cafe.
