  • try a durano plus.

i find them pretty grippy and they are so far puncture proof, 2 months on the rear with skids and a front brake.

    i run them at 110psi, 25's.

    they roll well enough.

got a set for gratis after complaining to schwalbe about the miserable durano skid.
didn't want to like them but kinda do now.

    winter tyres

am not planning on 5th floor/boikzmoind skidding through winter, but looking for a decent relatively puncture resistant fast rolling grippy tyre (i clearly want it all) - i tend to use a brake rather than skid, hence this is not going in the skid resistant tyre thread

have been using my summer tyre of choice - the michelin pro race 3 but have had 2 slashed to death on the rear in the past couple of weeks (they had been rotated off the road bike so not too bothered, they had done their time already)

for the rear am quite happy to use a 25mm tyre - benefit of slightly lower pressure so less chance of penetrative punctures

do not want to use an gatorskin or armadillo as I did not find them grippy enough

last year i got some conti 4 seasons against my better judgement for the road bike, they punctured on their first outing, and were just a world of fail
