When - I'd like to come along but just got busy for the next couple of weeks! :(

• #1253
Would be keen to join a ride if it is relatively soon (before work starts picking up again and wave goodbye to the sight of daylight for a few months)... not a new member but my attendance on this forum is so sporadic that I may as well be a noob.

The venue will either be North, South, South East or West Beers. Check the 'General' section of the forum for details of each. I don't know if I have time to organise a ride yet but I'll have a think. Anyone else?
Fucking typical. East beers gets left out.

When is the next ride?
Yo Daniel!
I go to Norths every Tuesday and Poots goes to South Easts and a couple of others (I think). If you wanna come along, I'd be very happy to ride North with you! I'll PM you my number now.
EDIT - Doesn't look like I can PM you until you are out of the forum nursery, which I think means your first 5 or 10 posts. So, just stick something here and I'll keep an eye on it.

Yo! Just moved to London for a couple of months. Picking up my (temporary) ride tomorrow :) so want to start riding here. And I was wondering what's going on here, as far as I can tell from the forum there are regular rides around town?
Thanks!

Things we do well on this forum, organise and go on a regular basis to Drinks, wherever they may be, and Ride.
So in the spirit of these two elements, comes the all new,
New Members Compass Beer Rides. It has been noted that meeting up with a big group of forumengers that you don't know in a pub can be slightly intimidating. So to make it less so, this idea has been put forward to combine drinks and rides.
Think of it as a Forum Fresher's week, without the hazing, so that the previous months new members get a chance to meet up with, and ride with fellow forumengers. Talk bikes, find out where drinks are, and get a good ride in at the same time
You can come out to the beers closest to you, or trek out to a beers on the otherside of town, safe in the knowledge that you'll be with people who a) know where they are going, and that b) someone will be heading back in your general direction so you can ride home in the company of another forumenger. So For One Week, every couple of months, there will be rides from Trafalgar Sq, to the Beers,
**Monday - Souths @ The Coach and Horses
Tuesday - Norths @ The Flask or
Tuesday - South Easts @ The Kings Arms or
Tuesday - Trixie Dix @ **White's Row Car Park Roof. White's Row, Off Commercial Street
** Wednesday - Easts @ The Royal Inn on the Park
Thursday - Wests @ The Crabtree or The Ship (season dependent)
Sunday - Polo @ Downham Rd Polo Courts.**A couple of regulars from each beers will be at Trafalgar Sq from approx 6.30 for a prompt 7pm departure, (1pm for a 1.30pm departure on Sunday) And will take any new member who so wishes for a ride which will arrive at beers/polo.
The Next Compass Beer Rides will be
May 11-17** 2009**.Edit: The route to beers from Trafalgar Sq is to be decided by the regular who will be leading the group. Personally I think the route should be scenic and fun, and shouldn't be too breakneck a pace. Any suggestions for routes are welcome, just post them up here, or in the routes database.
Depending on how many new members/faces sign up and add their names to the ubiquitous forum list, the dates can be moved on a month or two, or brought forward.
So New Members start here, come down to the ride to the beers, introduce yourself to other new and regular members, get a good ride into a beers, enjoy a soothing alcoholic beverage in the soothing presence of your new found bike friends and get a warm and fuzzy feeling at being welcomed into the collective forum bosom.
Ps.
I didn't include the John Snow or the Foundry on the Compass Beers list, since they are fairly adhoc events, sometimes, people head to them, sometimes not. So thought it'd be best to leave them off.
Also the meeting up and departure time could be bought forward by half an hour if enough people want to meet and leave earlier. That is all...
this ride is done on the day of the drinks. You would need to check the rides section for any rides happening over the weekend.;-)

Which beers do you want to go to Vi and Dodger? I think I'm doing Norths and Wests this week if you want to come along.
The venue will either be North, South, South East, East or West Beers. Check the 'General' section of the forum for details of each. I don't know if I have time to organise a ride yet but I'll have a think. Anyone else?
