• If you post a link on LFGSS for one of those retailers, then it should be automatically converted into an affiliate link.

    If someone subsequently clicks that link and (importantly) makes a purchase, then LFGSS earns a bit of that transaction.

    How much LFGSS gets varies, it can depend on whether the retailer is already discounting, how much the item is worth, whether you later return the item, etc. Also, different products have different rates. But you can reasonably expect anything from 0.5% > 2.5% might go to the forum.

    So a few pence of each transaction ends up in the coffers. Which makes each transaction pretty worthless really. But why it actually makes a difference is that LFGSS is huge, and lots of transactions happen every day. So those pennies really do add up in a big way.

    Serious money can only be earned if someone is going to buy something like a truck or car on eBay and posts the link here before bidding. Bicycles aren't worth enough to make much money per item sold, but vehicles, they are worth tons.
