Is it time to start calling out bad cyclists?

I remember my Grandpa saying when he was driving he always wanted to be able to hear what the engine was doing and what other people's engines were doing so he could drive properly. Used to say these new cars that block all the sound from outside are deathtraps. And that he'd never turn the radio on. It's a bit extreme perhaps, but I tend to cycle similarly. I want to be able to hear my own drivetrain and what the nincompoops in the metal boxes are doing.

So true. I was riding the other day and noticed that my bike was making horrible noises over every bump - checked and my front wheel had wriggled loose on one side after tinkering the night before. It was no problem and maybe 30 seconds into my ride - but imagine if id not heard it?! Jesus.

My current hatred is when i've stopped behind a bus or lorry or next to a car and some cunt on a hybrid or create rolls up and tells me to move out of the way so that they can go and wobble into the gap, not have enough strength to pull away from it and get in my fucking way when I ride past them 10 seconds later. I ended up berating some girl yesterday and telling her to learn to ride her bike faster instead of being a dick on essex road on my way to work.
