  • BMX cranks are a false economy in my opinion (people thinking they need "super strong" and shelling out it for it). Trials cranks are lighter and are easily strong enough for polo.

    I'll be running Middlebrun RS7s on the next bike, they come with a lifetime warranty (Middleburn replace broken cranks with new ones no question) have a myriad of chainring options (the UNO rings are good quality and come in 32/34t), they weigh 515g (arms, lockring and chainring), they often come up second hand for ~£50 (warranty still stands).

    Profiles are marginally stronger, true, but they're also 50% heavier, take the skin off your ankles and rust after a season.
