Don't know if you drive as well as cycle but as one who does I find the habit of drivers to queue up in the right hand lane instead of queueing in both lanes and zip-merging when the bus lane starts moronic and irritating. Same thing when there's roadworks on a dual carriageway, at the first sign saying there's a lane closed 5 miles down the road everyone piles into the open lane and looks at you like you just killed their firstborn if you stay in the lane which is closing.
That's because we are British, therefore we queue, and anyone who tries to jump the queue should be put to The Brank.
Also it's not a nice zipper movement, the manouvre I am talking about is performed by pulling hard left into what was the bus lane ~50 metres ahead of the lights, no indicating as that is a sign of weakness, foot hard down, off the lights, cut hard right straight across the bows of someone else and make them brake hard to let the jumper in.
