What's the point of clamp sizing differentials... or
of this unique if slightly odd ( ...to the traditional sensibilities
of traditionalists) brake lever ? -

the latter

the latter
I suppose if you'd checked out the link I enclosed, you would have read:
The lever can be actuated with either hand, but not both. One side of the split lever pulls the cable like a conventional brake lever, the other lengthens the housing in the same fashion that a ‘cross lever functions. It fits a 25.4mm handlebar (with shims for 22.2) with a hinged clamp for easy removal.
But you already know that and you're just trying your hand at trolling.
As you're obviously not interested in answering my question. -

Actually, Awkwardo, I wasn't aware of that, thanks for enlightening me. Didn't notice your link.
I think they sell them at sjs, they should be able to advise on the clamping.much love,

I don't know if it's this one, but doesn't someone else make one similar and everyone who's ever owned one says it's shit?
Didn't Ed have one?
The only time I've ever seen them they've been really close to the stem. Also I've got to ask, when was the last time you thought "fuck, I wish I could use my left hand instead!? <- serious question btw

A friend of mine has one and loves it. His is also the only one which i've seen mounted correctly. The rest have all been mounted the wrong way so that the long lever is away from the stem and the short one across it, not quite sure why people do that.

Because it gives you an option, you normally wouldn't have, when out and about on your beloved mechanical marvel.
Say you are hurtling along and decide that a mid journey beer is in order or desperately feel the urge to
rearrange your crutch, you could... if right handed or vice versa, still be able to execute an emergency stop. -

Yeah Neil, love and kisses etc... to you too.

If it's a 25.4 clamp, is putting it on 26.0 bars out of the question or not?
-
• #38
you'll have to fit a negative shim.

• #39
I for one really like it

I wish I'd never bought mine. It slept with my wife!

Has anyone used these with short riser bars?
The Dia Compe Gran Compe Shot Lever.
In the UK it's advertised as for a 26mm clamp. In the US and Japan it's 25.4 with shims for 2.2 ?
http://urbanvelo.org/dia-compe-shot-lever/
Are there two different models or is 25.4 and 26mm so similar that UK sellers plum for the larger more standard sizing to advertise ?
Many thanks in advance,
