I've just done a quick bit of research, and it seems that 2.5inches or 63.5mm seems to be the minimum retracted/lowered height. I've found 3 manufacturers that have that type of mini bottle jack, and thankfully, all 3 have a maximum expansion force of 5 tonnes. Its only when getting up to the 4.75inch or 120.7mm, that they can attain the 10 tonne force that would break several of the locks that are recommended. But again, if Edscoble's or fred's method of locking is utilised then the bottle jack is rendered useless, as it can't fit in the gap. Fahg Mini owners have no such worries.
