  • This was my first proper road bike, I now know more what I want from a road bike and more importantly, what size I need.
It is a 2009 BMC SL01 Road Racer in size 60 (XL), this is their size chart:

I am 6'1'' and it would fit me perfectly with a slightly shorter head tube, so if you are the same height but don't like to be very bent over then it would work for you, as well as for someone slightly taller, there is loads of seat post left to use.
It is made of Aluminium seat, top, down and head tubes and carbon fiber seat and chain stays and forks.
It gives an amazingly stiff and responsive but not harsh ride, there is not an ounce of flex anywhere on the bike. Forum member 6pt, owner of the Lookiest Look bike around was recently surprised at the ride quality when taking it for a spin. It is noticeably smoother than my all aluminium track bike.
It makes me smile every time I ride this bike, but with my future plans I need something that fits me perfectly.
The wheels are the stock Easton EA70 which are very light and very stiff, never had a problem with them and they are highly regarded training wheels.
The tyres are Ultremo R.1, must have done about 200 miles since new without fault so with tonnes of life left.
The groupset is a mix of Campagnolo. It has the older style (nicer) Record 10 speed levers, carbon Chorus crankset, carbon Centaur rear derailleur and Veloce front derailleur and brakes.
The saddle is a Specialized Toupe Pro with carbon rails which is just a couple of weeks old. My preferred saddle, the Romin, is going on my track bike, but the Toupe is very comfy as many people online will testify.
The stem is Easton EA90 in 90mm, the bars are FSA omega compact drop, the perfect shape in my opinion. The headset is FSA and the bar tape is Easton (to match the carbon stays, forks and wheels) and has gel pads underneath for extra comfort.
The Elite bottle cage will be included.
    No pedals are included.

All in all, this bike is amazing. I don't want to sell it but the sensible side of my brain is making it so I can afford a slightly smaller version of the same bike. There is not a single problem with it and it is very fun to ride. I have included a picture of the 1 paint chip, located on the top tube. There are a few usual tiny scratches around the bottom of the seat tube/down tube from stones and that but none go through the paint and you only notice them if you're looking for them.
It costs £1000. Cash. Viewing or collection from my flat in N1 or Look Mum No Hands where I work on Old Street. It is worth considerably more, but I bought it for as much just a few months ago.
