Nice looking bike!
Deda do an aluminium "compact" bar:
Aesthetically pleasing but I'm not sure how comfy/useful STIs would be on this shape
What stem is this?

Beautiful frame. Funny build... and you'll regret those zip ties in about 3 months when they mark your frame

You'll regret that riding position in about ten years too.

My latest project - a Stan Pike TT frame made of Ishiwata 017 Record Breaker tubing (silver brazed).
Having spent the last week removing the stuck seatpost with caustic soda, I am now about to start building it up in earnest.
Campagnolo Pista chainset, super record rear mech, universal cx brakes, weinmann drilled levers, rino seatpost, kashimax saddle, 3ttt stem and cinelli bars, royce hubs on ambrosio montreal rims. Pedals will be suntour superbe pro, just need to stick together the downtube shifter and sort the cables out and should be ready for it's first outing.

Ergos/STIs work fine with a classic bend like that. I have a newton shallow on my road bike with ergos. Also, Phil uses one too: http://cdn4.media.cyclingnews.futurecdn.net/2011/07/04/1/gilbert_canyon_aeroad_bar_bend_600.jpg

^Most beautiful stem evah in my humble opinion.. Or maybe not.. Nag has a lot of potential with the splash of DA 7600 and super frame, but handlebar and brake mounted on the rear ruin it for me.. Also, how is the brake mounted? Looks like two plates bolted against each other against the stays or summit? Why did you choose to set it up this way?

Rear brake only innit, sexy times.

Hi, the bike is what i rode when i raced in Japan in 2009. I purchased the brake "kit" whilst i was there in the Keirin shop. Its a dia compe brake caliper with 2 flat plates and a wing nut to attach it. I need a brake for riding around!! lol All the keirin students run the brake like this too when they are doing there on road drills. The handlebars kill it i know, there decathlon specials but i just didn't want the drops. im 6ft.2 so he position is ok for me. got that cafe racer feel to it with the bars down there. All the parts barring handlebars are NJS I have lots of parts and another frame also.

^^ Needs oiling...

It's really oily.
-
• #51142
Is it?
-
• #51143
Yeah. It's quite rusty as well. But it's oily.

something very beautiful about that.

Thats before back brake went on. Mate's plug also on the 'bike stand'. Note the brand new Leader 721 hanging on the coat rack :D
With back brake
need to do the powdercoat asap!

bmxed - stem from planet x? are they 25.4 risers... did you shim?
No shims required. They are 25.4mm bars, but those black 3TTT stems are caked in paint. I originally fitted some 26.0mm bars to them and they were a pain to fit as they just seemed too big.

I wouldn't, seriously, just ride it like that, spend money on parts you can swap over to a new frame when you upgrade.

Schweet! Ordered one as had been looking for a black stem for Les the low budget LoPro, what a bargain.

those team banana frames are rad dont paint it! im sure it aint really worth the money either. if that bike had a black rear tyre and a different saddle it would be real nice
Don't think that count as 'compact', unless you mean the drop is pretty shallow?
