• Anyone here has any idea how much would be fair going rate for good condition Cinelli #1 100mm road stem? It's the version without fancy badge but with a "Cinelli - Milano" stamp instead? Basically the same model as in the photo here:

  • Dear,

I wonder how much a good looking Eddy Merckx Chromor Pista frame+original fork will cost. Because I have one and I payed 250eu for it but it needs a repaint. So I like to know for whats its worth.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/steelyfan/5476235142/in/set-72157626008406885 its exactly like this frame.

    Thanks,

  • really really need a repaint? or just need? It'd be hard to top that off

  • Well it really needs a repaint, because its a Merckx corsor that 15 years ago a velodrome in Holland bought and repainted it... So if I repaint it to the original collorway it would be a very nice E Merckx frame...

    Grtz

  • not the right forum i know, but anyone hazard a guess at value - diamond back dual response pro mid 90s - not my kind of thing at all.

mix of XT and LX, plus easton made frame - one of the first dual suspension down hill racers i've been told... rrp in 1995 a whopping 2,700 usd !

    http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1995&Brand=Diamondback&Model=Dual+Response+Pro&Type=bike

can find no precedent for 2nd hand value right now

  • ^this. But check out retrobike.com, sometimes they're a bit daft

  • would someone be able to answer my post about the merckx chromor?

    Thanks

  • Any advice on this?

Graham Weigh complete bike - 53cm square - cut outs in the lugs, almost certainly 531 (same lugs as my 531c track frame) - full Campagnolo Victory - except for the shifters (though these are still Campag), original Cinelli bars and stem, white turbo, brand new Gators front and back. Complete with crank dustcaps. Wheels are Mavic MA40 on shimano hubs, with 6 speed screw on freewheel.

  • Hi all, currently debating whether or not to get my old road bike back into repair, either to sell on or use as a winter bike, but will probably sell if it's worth more than a couple of bob. Would appreciate some thoughts on that.

A 1987 Ron Cooper - custom made for me after some good O-level results. Columbus SL, 54cm. Resprayed c. late 90s. Unfortunately not quite as 'period correct' as it used to be, since I've replaced odd bits over time without being able to afford replacement Campag Record. It's a real mish-mash of Campag/Shimano at various levels. So the build currently looks like this:

wheels - Mavic MA40 on Campag Super Record large flange hubs
    Cinelli bars/stem
    Stronglight headset
Campag Super Record brakes and levers
Shimano Dura Ace aero seat post
    Rolls San Marco saddle
    Shimano Ultegra front mec
    Shimano Tiagra rear mec
    Shimano RX100 shifters
Stronglight chainset - I love this.

I might be able to dig out some Campag Super Record pedals but my dad's shed is a minefield. Possibly a CSR rear mec as well...

I'll need a new bottom bracket for it to be fully functioning but other than that it's in good working order. A few scratches and dinks on the frame but no rust.

Obviously I'll take some better pics if it comes to selling, but just as an idea...

  • ahem.

probably a bit dumb of me to dibs and then ask.
    probably a bit cheeky too.

    but. whats this worth ......

    http://www.lfgss.com/thread73261.html

it looks nice enough to me. and ive been looking out for a frame this size.
can anyone direct me to or tell me a bit about the thing too.

i need some education please . cheers.

    jd.

  • Alu Eddy Merckx Grand Prix 2006(?) with Ultegra group and what looks like Open Pro's. Said to be in good nick. Seller is asking 550, but Norwegian prices tends to be a little higher. Good deal?

  • Ron Cooper - £200-250

JohnQdarwin - Lugs are nice, tubing is good and the geo looks tight. If you aren't comfortable then don't buy it, I wouldn't buy it without knowing more about it.

Larsenroed - Seems a bit steep to me.

    Any second opinions?

+1 to that, but i reckon bit more on the cooper tho if it were on thebay.
JQD if it must be a champion then why not do it, if not you can pick up good track frames in the UK sub 200 nicker and without the budaspost on top.
We all must pay 20% merckx tax on all merckx items ;-)

second hand things are only worth what you want to pay for them IMHO another will always come along at the right price.

  • cheers fellers. thats what i thought. i can get an old battered njs keirin jobby or a brand spanking new steve goff for 400 dabs. better save my cash up and go for something ill love to bits.

  • Thanks guys, will see if I can push the price some more.

  • Cheers folks.
