I can understand wanting the new group on it and I think it still looks great, although not as good as it used to.

i have no problem with the sram red build apart from the red hoods. the mx leader is still, in some ways, the best frame ever built, so why not put the best available group on it. makes sense to me. all my nineties steel frames have had modern shimano groups.

the mech and cranks don't look very new to me. i was ignoring the rest.

i'm not really an expert on components and shit though. just looked very similar to an old 600 mech. i knw it's not a 600

clearly dual pivot brakes though.

No because sadly it works like most of the other threads on the forum...there are a select few members of the self appointed 'forum police' who like to correct peoples personal opinions and tell them what is and isn't bike porn.
