You can get them for ~£40 on eBay, I suppose that if once repaired they are rubbish then that puts a different complexion on things.
Depends on how good you are at repairing them. I've not attempted repairing one yet myself, but those I know that have end up with a lump around were they've repaired the tub. I dare say if you're good at it you though you can end up with an almost like new tub.

Pretty good thread on repairing tubs there, although fdegroove sums it up nicely in post 10 - Used to repair tubs, but now just uses liquid latex.
Are they similar to Vittoria's ? They're made by Lion Tires in Thailand who make tires for Vittoria amongst others
