Fish Central, 2 mins from LMNH. Formerly amazing sit down as well as takeaway. Sit down now got a bit poncy-looking, but it's still my favourite. Have fish in Matzo rather than batter. Faulkners do this too... it's brilliant. Brockley's just had a new one open that's great, Brockley's Rock.
Thing is, it's basically cheap food. There are loads of good chippys. Every town has one.
Ahem, 'Victoria Park Village'?!?! What the fuck! Are you an estate agent?
I don't rate fryer's delight, though dripping-cooked FnC is really the right way. Most of the north and in east anglia they do it this way.

Fish Central is very, very good. Only ruined by the Nazi cab drivers.

Not that I've ever eaten there; it just has an excellent name

Not a fan of the fish house in victoria village. Chips were shit and the fish was average at best.

Fishy Business in Brockley is good too - everything's really fresh, their curry sauce is awesome and the portions are hella generous!
Brockley's just had a new one open that's great, Brockley's Rock.

Fwiw, the newish one on Poland street isn't that good really, chips too dry and tough, fish not generous, batter iffy ... but, and this is a massive but, their fish cakes and tatare totally ROCK. Worth going just for these.

I propose the Fat Bastard Fried Run.
100 laps of HH to burn enough calories then Kens in HH onto the Seashell in Maryleborne, couple of laps of the outer circle of Regents park, cross town and a quick stop off at the Fryers Delight in Holborn, a hard burn up to Toffs of Muswell Hill, easy run down to the Fish House beside Viccy park then back down South to the Sea Cow in East Dulwich (South Peckham) then back to HH for another 50 laps then the final reward of Ollys.
Sounds Easy.
Done before in the form of the Fubu Dash. It involved us going to as many fried chicken establishments as possible

The chippy opposite Forest Hill station was awesome, all of a sudden the fish has gone a bit greasy.
I am savagely disapoint- and I am unaware of anywhere within walking distance (with hot food) that might replace it.
Boo.

Did I mentioned that I'm starving, and reallyreallyreally want fish & chips right now?
fish & chips ride around tower hill?

Alexanders round the back of Finsbury Square, on Wilson Street used to be a fav of mine when I worked round there, great family run business, not burgers or bullshit. just fish, chips, saveloys and pies

^This is how a chippy should be. Any establishment with an elephants leg in the window is clearly one to be avoided.

the cycling sounds easy, but no way i could eat 7 fish'n'chips in a day. i'd be up for teaming up in a 3 or 4 if this ride ever happens, to share 7 F+C.

Masters Superfish on Waterloo Road is worth a visit. Tasty, flaky fish and massive portions, plus free pickled onions, bread and prawns, all for less than a tenner.
