Okay, I'm saddened to have to say this as I dislike having to spread the bad word, but I had a deal with urbanmining and he ACCEPTED my offer of £260, we've exchanged all the details about bank accounts over the last couple of days and had established a nice rapport. I've just now received an email saying that he's giving it to a guy from Leeds (congratulations, my upset is not with you) who has come in at the asking price. Now Urbanmining had the distaste to add that 'that was your risk' to his email, when I believe that when a deal is accepted there is no risk and I would have been happy to pay that little bit more had I even been considered. I don't know if it's typical seller etiquette on this forum to go back on one's word, to break a deal and not even be told that if someone offers a little more then they'll go with it. I may be horribly old fashioned but in the past I've stayed true to my accepting the deal I've made at the time and not been tempted by any thing else, doing so breaks the bonds of trust between fellow man.
All I'm saying is, if ever you're going to make a deal with this person, he doesn't mean it, and he's not going to give you a chance if someone offers you more because he doesn't have the common decency to consider anyone else other than his business self.
I do not wish for this to be a cry in the dark but merely a matter of warning for anyone else dealing with him or other potential people on this forum,to not get carried away by people's word and to not set things into action surrounding deals that are a hair's breadth from closing.
