  • well i dont know about that dfp. everybody using ski poles seems to maintaining straight poles. whilst all the guys using straight aluminium poles seem to be at a curve of 10 degrees. Also on the london part of the forum as well as the lhbpa shop the tried and tested grade of aluminium seems to be 7075 t6 aluminium. the mechanical properties of all the grades also seem to bear this out. 7075 t6 has twice the tensile strength of 6083 t6 with about half the elongation (stretch) ie stronger and stiffer.

    Obviously all this academic until it is proven on the courts, which is really what I am tring to assess,

    Yeah, but dont you see it doesnt matter how good the tensile strength is if the tube manufacturer has made the walls thinner because of this increased strength. If it gets dented then it is compromised.
