Seatpost clamp & crown race

First problem i have is with my seatpost clamp.

I have used a few other saddles with this seatpost without any problems. After recently getting a brooks saddle i have found the clamp doesn't tighten up enough to lock the rails of the saddle in place, and i can easily push it back and forth!

New seatpost?
Use tape or some kind of shim to stop it moving??...... new seatpost.

Its 27.0 so if anyone has anything nice lying around, i'd be interested.

Secondly, I have just changed the headset on my bike because the one on it was worn out.
The new one i put on is a JIS, Hatta headset in very good condition.
When i got to installing the fork crown race i found it was too big(27.0) so assume the forks i have will take a 26.4 crown race.
I put the original crown race back on which works ok but is a bit pitted.

Question is: can i just get a new 26.4 crown race (will any fit?) to work with the rest of the JIS headset? or new headset?

Are the JIS cups tight in the frame? They are slightly smaller (30mm vs 30.2mm)

Ah, didn't know that.
They seem to be, didn't go in too easitly...

fatoldbloke: Don't know what your getting at!
The JIS fcr crown race is obviously loose as its 0.6mm too big.
But as i said i re-installed the original fcr which fits perfect but is pitted.
