  • Today's sessions started 25 or so minutes early and I was 15 minutes late changing tyres on my flatmates bike so she could go for a ride - no track for me. Same for my mate who came down, but at least he can make it for next week. Today was perfect for it and the track looks lovely and fast. Gutted. Monday night better be on or I'm gonna start overtaking articulated trucks on the left around tight corners!

  • Missed today as I am in California but have now discovered I can be there next week subject to jet lag. Jolly good.

  • Brilliant today :)

  • awesome day at the track as always

  • Really enjoyed it other than my temporary seat post failing and spending ages finding the sodding missing piece

  • That was the most enjoyable Saturday session this year. I love the new surface, so smooth. And thanks for the sprint lead-out Tom, I owe you one. I'll return the favour next time if possible.

  • Yep, that was great. Thanks to all, particularly Tika and Jay.

See you next week, with my own bottle!

  • Good session today and good to meet mashton!

  • ...And thanks for the sprint lead-out Tom, I owe you one...

No need, I was lead out for the end of the first half and wanted to pass the love on. It was all so smooth and comfortable today that even pointlessly burying yourself was fun.
Jaygee made it for me though:
"How are you feeling now Tom?"
"Urgh, not great, can kind of taste my breakfast coming back for me"
    "Hmm..."
Cue him blasting through the next 2-up leaving me feeling slow and sorry for myself. Sneaky bastard.

  • Wondering whats HH's policy on self-service? Can I just go in and ride when there's no scheduled programme?

  • With the new (by the sounds of it; grippier) surface, will the tarck stay open later this year?
And whats the proposed closing date?

  • afaik, beginners training finishes this week, then intermediates moves to a 11-1 time slot and will continue on for as long as the weather allows.
(source: half-remembered conversation with JC last week)

  • Presumably ''weather permitting'' should mean all year round, since even if it's flippin' cold the track would be rideable as long as it's dry/snow-/ice-free?

Not that I'm taking for granted the availaility of the coaching, which is obviously bloody brilliant. :-)

Depending on the questions, look at the calendar, or read the FAQs.

Saturday's will continue as they do every year until the end of October, then it will hopefully switch to "winter schedule" which is intended to be 11am-1pm, intermediates only.

This is down to the availability of the coaches. If anyone fancies helping out with the view to perhaps becoming trained up as a coach in the future talk to the coaches down there. The sessions can only happen because of the volunteers.

  • 11-1? Awesome. I need to get fitter.

  • Is there a jumble on Saturday?

  • Hilly Ben - yep. A rare time the calendar wasn't up to date. Sorted now.

  • ...the coaching, which is obviously bloody brilliant. :-)

Much appreciated. We will keep taking the drugs and carry on for as long as possible!

  • I will miss it this Saturday as I am in Italy. I am up for helping on the coming sessions as it is bloody brilliant!

  • I will be spectating on saturday because I wish to keep legs happy for sunday, and if I ride I know I'll just get carried away. still up for post-track breakfast though, obviously.

  • far too much sport on tv to make it this week

  • The football isn't on until Sunday lunchtime. No excuse not to ride. I will be there if I am over jet lag but only get into London tomorrow afternoon from SF.

  • Damn, I had better get good enough to hit the intermediates, once the beginners ends...

  • The football isn't on until Saturday lunchtime, after that it's all guff. No excuse not to ride. I will be there if I am over jet lag but only get into London tomorrow afternoon from SF.

I'm also rather intent on watching the rugby, which I could record then when back from the track watch football. Adjust mood accordingly and pick my bike up from the shop a few bits and bobs then out for posh dinner.. ergo leaving no time to watch England 'play' rugby

Mashton, you'll be ok, the drills are a little quicker, the pacing riding at the end of each hour is harder though, lose a wheel and it gets real hard real quick
