I personally would UTFS and read all the 2.5+ million shoe threads. And then still have to make up my own mind as personal preference will be your guide in this most personal matter.

I swear I searched through looking for the Avenir, but they weren't specifically mentioned, so I just wanted to see if anyone had specific thoughts on them. I looked through all the other shoes threads and realise the Bonts are highly regarded , but money's tight and I just wondered how significant the difference would be. Maybe you're right and I should just make my own personal decision based on info provided in the other threads.

Thanks, I think I may have fallen foul of SomebodyMakeMyDecisionForMe Syndrome, however, the Mavics are the only ones I can try on and they're fine.

Why are road shoes so ugly. Can anyone recommend some road spd shoes? I want to give spd a try and I don't want to break the bank. I would also prefer ones which you can walk in without too much trouble.
Thoughts anyone?

I was really hoping that i had the AUD-GBP exchange rate wrong. Them some expensive shoes.
Am looking at possibly purchasing the Mavic Avenir http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=56209for both road and track, but have read they're a little spongy in the sole. Would it really matter to someone on the lower end of the skill and talent scale, or would I be better off splurging a bit and getting the Bont A-Three http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=70641 or possibly Garne Mythos http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=70592
