Well, I'm thinking my 17T cog must be wider than the 15T, hence why it doesn't slip on the 17T. I.e. spacer thingy should work.
I do run a front brake, yeah. I guess track season is over now so don't have to worry about it for a while.
Cheers for your help!

Thats a good fix mate...The spacer would bring the sprocket out...On the track you shouldnt really use a lockring as its safer if you crash etc...Yep you can always use both sides of the hub for a fixed sprocket....
Heres a tip for ya..If you use the free side for a fixed sprocket you can use an old style BB lockring to lock it down.Use a lockring on the road chaps..
hmm... if it's just those innermost threads that are damaged, you could try using a spacer to space the cog out, so that the lockring doesn't need those damaged threads? Probably worth checking this out with someone more qualified than me though.
and you run a front brake on the street anyway though right?
I think ideally though, a new hub.

want the quanto hubs black front with brake machined. back normal black spokes is that possible
-
• #1132
but in 40mm
-
• #1133
mtuts - the 30mm are machined, the 40mm are not machined.
You can run the 40mm with a brake, but it is not ideal and may squeal until the black finish has been worn down.

30mm in black come in machined and unmachined. Only built with silver nipples ...

VAAAAAAAAAAARNO!
Did you shift that front wheel mate? -
• #1136
Hi Varno, I ordered some black 30mm rims (machined front, radial spokes, unmachined back) with Miche hubs on saturday afternoon, will that have gone out yesterday for delivery? No rush just wondering if I'll have them for this weekend. Cheers mate. Luke

Ha, ha. I suspected as much.
I'll take a look at the V Sprint site - I'm keen to maybe get a 40mm rim laced to a miche (front). I may have sorted out a rear wheel from a recent sale/exchange, so its just a front at the moment.

Varno, can you do some wheels for a commuter fixed gear with 126mm spacing? Something in all silver? Was hoping to get away with the quando hubs, but would others be tougher for day-to-day commute? Thanks.

I got a 30mm V Radial Silver, with a Quango Hub from Varno, it's awesome. For braking, I changed brake pads to Shimano Ultegra Dual pivot Blocks, they work an absolute treat, no squeal, no surface rubbing, and good stopping reaction...... pricey at 11 quid a pair, but, it's a small price for safety....... thought it was worth the mention.

Garnett, I'm running a 30mm Radial lace with a Quango hub, it's been on for nearly 2 weeks now and it's absolutely stress free. Runs nice and smooth, really good feel on teh road, and I'm doing an 8 mile each way commute....... it's looks bloody amazing too so I would'nt hesitate personally, get ordering......... no, I don't work for Varno, just a very happy punter......

I will let you have some spacers mate no probs...i suggest the Quando or Miche as the axle is a little bit longer.

Awesome, thanks Orko42. Think I will go for it, but I just need to know whether I can specify 126mm spacing on the website offer process.
Are there any pics of the wheel options side on, full wheel, anywhere?
Edit: Sorry Varno, crossed posts. Have you got any pics? And how should I make the order? - via your website?

Hi mate yep just order on the site and send me a note to ensure you get the spacers..
Easy.

A poser for Jim and customers; What's the largest size tyre you can comfortably run on the DP18s or Pegasus'?
-
• #1147
Some guys have run 35s...
-
• #1148
Yeah I was gonna say, 35c rando cross are happy enough.
-
• #1149
I've got 30s on one set of Varno's no problem. I'd probably want to run 35s at a slightly higher pressure on them but I'm pretty sure that would be ok.

Come to think of it, just come back from Hatbeard's house and he has just fitted a 35 to one of Varno's DP18s and it doesn't look stupid. He hasn't riden it yet though, I'll get him to let you know how he finds them.
