Milk Bikes: Belt Drives and Disc Brakes

Smallfurry, didn't know there was a belt drive thread, didn't pop up when I was creating this one.
I was hoping some eagle eyes forumite had already spied them.
Though speaking to jimbilly out at south's he's of the opinion that belt drives are going to go the way of the dodo what with trek discontinuing their belt drive bikes..

I have a belt drive 29er.

My opinion of belt drive commuters, is pretty much the same as that of hub geared commuters. Yes they require less maintainance, and yes they are a little more idiot proof. But at the end of the day, when things feck up (and they always will on a daily hack). The cost and availability of parts is horrendous compared to a basic Deore mech, and chain. It comes down to the KISS principle. C+ seem to love these things, but I'm not convinced its what your average joe needs.

I love my 29er though, (I'm going to pick up a alfine sprocket to future proof it somewhat). Would'nt change for the world.
