Unless you've got the spare moolah for FMB, Vittoria Pista Evo CS every time for a wooden velodrome. Have a search on Weight Weenies for opinions on Tufo tubs.

I hold most tyre opinions in the same light that I hold Hippy's opinion of Conti tyres. My personal experience - very good, especially for the price we could get them at.

The Evo CS are good until you even think about going off wood.

Each tyre design responds differently to changes in roller radius. I believe roller tests are useful when designing tyres but a test on a real surface is the only (yet difficult to control properly) way to properly compare them.

Rank order and magnitude of difference translate pretty much precisely from roller to real surfaces. Tufos are shit on a roller and shit on boards, concrete or tarmac.
