Ive got a pair of these which have a few scuffs from putting the bike down, but only used for a few trips. Smooth tight bearings, Shimano SPD cleat compatible. £15 delivered?

Ive got these Shimano 747's. Quite scuffed but plenty of life left. Might have cleats, I'll have to check.
£12 collection from South Quay, Docklands or Dagenham (work)?

I have a set of black pd-m515 pedals in good nick that you can have for a fiver - no cleats though.

Ta for offer but Docklands/Dagenham is a bit out of the way for me and I really want them by Friday...

Would be ideal as that's what I've got atm...where are you based to get from you?

Have had a think and given my lack of skills, time and tools to actually change pedals myself I might as well suck it up and pay the LBS.
Sorry people, move away from the thread, there's nothing to see here.

Buy a 15mm spanner/ pedal spanner and do it yourself! It's the simplest of jobs and I'm sure will cost you less than having your lbs do it!

Happy to change pedals if you can get to HH

Poots, I am disappoint. Thought you wanted to learn? ;)
You'll need an 8mm alan key if you get m520's, and invest in a little tube of grease from the lbs for a few quid.
A 15mm spanner is always handy, you'll need one to get your pedals off and it might be an idea to have one around for changing flat tyres.Worth investing in some basic tools innit.

I thought I had a 15mm spanner. Turns out it's a cone spanner :faceplonk:
Thanks for the offer though peoples but have asked the shop to do it now. I need my pedals sorted for the Brighton ride on sat and at least this way I know it's done properly. The person who put the pedals on kept meaning to grease them up but didn't so I got afeared it would be more complicated/hard than I thought.
I are teh suck!

Even if it turns out to be a cone spanner, it should still work I think - I guess they are just slim spanners, so maybe a little weaker. Or as Wicksie said - most pedals can be dealt with via allen key. Don't forget the grease - nothing worse than seized pedals, resulting in new crankset time when something goes wrong / or you change to a different style cleat system.

Seriously!!!
When you go to the LBS just buy a pedal spanner instead. It will probably be cheaper than paying them to do it, you get to learn how to do it and you have the tool forever. Check youtube for instructions. Learn how to do this incredibly simple task and you will feel good about it and you can move onto more advanced things as you go. The beauty of having a sweet fixeh is that they are so simple to maintain and fix yourself. -

+1. Although I would say get a Park PW-4 if you can afford it. It will be more expensive than getting even the most expensive bike shop to do it, but it's a joy to use, will shift even the most stubborn pedals and is a tool for life :)
You're welcome to borrow mine if you're anywhere near N1.

don't necessarily need the grease on the threads as Margarine will do nicely, or go utterly Butterley if need be, and I'm sure there's a fridge near you that can be raided...........

Next time Gadgets. The work is already being done/has been done. Have had an arse of day and I couldn't face the prospect of more faff and hassle. All the above tips = noted.

stanmawr, I want your pedals and have sent you a PM.
Does anyone have any SH51 cleats knocking about?
Anyone got a spare set knocking around they don't want?
Ta!
