    Couldn't you get your griffins to do it for you?

    ^^ I did a batch as well ... it was a fairly easy process, but first the dough was not very rollable but to runny. I then might have added a bit too much flour, because mine turned out rock hard. I should have added more almonds as well.
    Nevertheless, good with a cup of coffee.

    It's the eggs that make it go hard, more bicarb to make it less dense maybe, but too much air and that also make it go hard. Maybe you just over worked it

    @illy - you can dry the leech them of the tannics then they are fine to use.
